The Director General of the General Service Agency (GSA),  Galakpai W. Kortimai, ha said the Agency has taken on the full project of the renovation of the historic Centennial pavilion and that there will be more renovation works on other historic buildings.

Over 2-3 decades plus since it was built by former President, Williams V.S Tubman, and the recent comprehensive overhaul launched by the GSA under the administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, the Centennial Pavilion has not undergone any major renovation.

Speaking Thursday at the Ministry of Information regular press briefing, Mr. Kortimai explained about   how far the renovation process is. He said over the years, only partial renovation was done on the building, disclosing that the time has come to complete renovation works.

Minister Kortimai has however said the cost of the renovation work is put at five hundred thousand United States Dollars (US$ 500,000.00).

According to the GSA boss, the Agency has completed 50% of the carpentry, 60% of the electrical aspect, 50% of the painting of the building and hopefully the building will be ready by November.

Kortimai further emphasized that government license plates are not for vehicles that are not owned by government, warning that individuals in violation would be fined or punished. “Government’s properties must always be protected”, the GSA boss reemphasized.
