FEW MONTHS AGO, THIS PAPER developed and published an article under the caption “Alignment and Realignment”. In that article, we pin pointed the importance of politicians putting aside their political differences and forging ahead with one goal which seeks to promote democratic principles and good governance in Liberia.
This IS WHERE WE EVEN MENTIONED THE issue of strange bare-feathers, which has to do with two previous opposing forces coming together in a unit to forge ahead with one goal and purpose.
OF RECENT, OPPOSITION POLITICAL LEADERS have converged in the premises of the former President, George Manner Weah, with one simple purpose and mission, and that is to give the Unity Party one term as was in the case with George Weah led Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), while strategists of the ruling Unity Party understandably converged in Bong County over the weekend to strategize how they can get their re-election bid and retain power.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT ALL of these political gatherings are significant because it affords politicians the technical chances to cross examine their performances, be it opposition or in-position. The greatest philosopher (Socrate) put it right when he said “an unexamined life does not worth living”. This is while it is crucial to self-evaluate performances that will direct the course of situation in the anticipation of good governance in our political and social dispensation.
THE NECESSITY FOR THE REALIGNMENT posture by politicians comes from the backdrop of helping themselves to develop benchmarks as indicators that must be visibly seen to help determine the genuineness of the crowd (their followers) they pull during political activities.
IT IS IMPORTANT FOR POLITICIANS TO apply their political strategies to determine which party has the crowd or membership because from the 2024 to 2029, there will not be national bye-election, besides the Nimba county’s two bye-elections for the Senate and House of Representatives.

RIGHT NOW, IT IS DIFFICULT TO know which political party has the winning number because there has been no scientific evidence to justify absolute numerical strength and control by any Political Party.
THAT IS THE REASON WHILE POLITICIANS should be in constant touch with their constituents because politics in Liberia is unpredictable and can make a sudden U-turn in a unprecedented mood.
