-Does Anyone Care?
It was erected in 2009 during the administration of former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf as a special project of the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs.
It was implemented by former Monrovia City Mayor, Mary T. Broh, as part of efforts to beautify Broad Street, a major street in Downtown Monrovia.
This Paper could not readily put a hand on the estimated cost of the project, but it is likely that a reasonable amount of financial and human resources were spent to facilitate its implementation.
As depicted in the photos here, the Tree Garden stands in ruins.
The trees are untrimmed, grass has overgrown and the concrete fence has broken down, turning the once beautiful garden into a resting place for disadvantaged young men and women, some of them, mentally ailed.
Under broad day light, some pedestrians used the dilapidated Tree Garden as a urinary and latrine during late night hours.
