Sinoe county leadership, headed by Alexander Nah Sleweon Sr., has announced plans to enforce the removal of Bokononbee activities from Pellekon, Voogbardee , Dagbe town, Judu town and other parts in Seekon Statutory District as part of efforts to promote peace, order, and respect for traditional and community values.
The county district tour which began on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Wakaba Statutory District, where Superintendent Sleweon held discussions with citizens in Pyne Town.
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, the Superintendent and his delegation traveled to Pellekon Statutory District to continue the engagement with local residents and authorities.
Speaking during the meeting, Superintendent Alexander Nah Sleweon Sr. said the decision was prompted by concerns raised by residents and community leaders regarding the presence and influence of Bokononbee practices in the district.
The Superintendent of Pellekon Statutory District, Varoler Saydee, called on the county administration to take immediate action to preserve harmony and prevent potential conflicts within the district.
County officials stated that the enforcement process will be carried out in accordance with the law and in consultation with elders, youth leaders, and traditional authorities.
The government emphasized that its objective is to foster unity and ensure that all residents live in a peaceful and respectful environment.
Residents of Pellekon Statutory District welcomed the planned action, expressing hope that it will strengthen social cohesion and support development in the district.
During the engagement, citizens also presented a number of pressing concerns affecting their communities.
They urged the county government to address longstanding challenges, including the construction of an administrative building and a city hall, as well as the creation of employment opportunities for young people.
The district's youth representative thanked Superintendent Alexander Nah Sleweon Sr. for visiting the area and taking time to understand the difficulties facing local residents.
The Youth Chairman highlighted several issues confronting young people, including inadequate security presence, the lack of a youth center, and high unemployment.
In response, Superintendent Alexander Nah Sleweon Sr. promised to deploy joint security personnel to the district to help safeguard the community.
