The broadcast journalist is bed-ridden and has not been seen in public for over twelve months, a report quoting family sources said.
Doctors say he is suffering from Parkinson’s disease, swollen legs and numbness. Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disease of mainly the central nervous system that affects both the motor and non-motor systems of the body.
Doctors have prescribed ARTANE and SINEMET drugs at the cost of sixty United States Dollars.
During the peak of his profession, Babason David Harris worked for many radio stations, including, Love FM, ECOWAS RADIO and UNMIL Radio.
Journalist Harris’ family says his condition is worsening daily and needs urgent intervention by people of goodwill.
“He also needs further test and that is very expensive,” a family source added.
The reports also say, apart from the medication he needs, the ailing journalist, needs food and other life’s necessities.
“No amount is too small, let us stand together during these difficult times to show Babason love and the support he badly needs to save his life,” said a fellow journalist, who visited him.
