“WE REMAIN COMMITTED TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES”

Acting Executive Director the National Commission on Disabilities, NCD, Apostle Dr. J. Aaron Wright Sr, has reiterated his determination to remain committed to advocate for equal opportunities and empowerment for Persons with Disabilities, while also strengthening institutional capacity to effectively serve the public.

Dr. Wright said the Commission is undertaking reform initiatives intended to strengthen institutional capacity and expand opportunities for persons with disabilities.

 The acting NCD Executive Director made the disclosure in a statement over weekend at the Commission’s national headquarters in Monrovia.

Wright also disclosed the acquisition of a brand new bus that he says ease the transportation challenges of staff. He said the bus will also enhance the operational efficiency of employees of the Commission.

He said the acquisition of the bus is part the NCD’s reform initiatives and institutional strengthening measures intended to improve staff welfare, boost productivity, and ensure effective implementation of the Commission’s programs and activities across Liberia.

“The dedication of the vehicle marks a significant milestone in improving staff mobility, easing transportation challenges, and enhancing operational efficiency at the Commission,” Dr. Wright said amidst applause.

Our reporter, who was on the scene said the atmosphere at the NCD’s national headquarters was a one of excitement, gratitude, and jubilation as staff the celebrated.

 “This latest intervention reflects the ongoing reform measures and staff-centered leadership of the Commission aimed at creating a more effective and responsive institution in service to Persons with Disabilities across Liberia” The Acting NDC Boss also added.

President Boakai’s senior political advisor,  MacDella Cooper, speaking during the presentation of the bus,  lauded the new leadership of the NCD and   described the dedication of the new bus as a significant step towards the creation of a more enabling working environment for staffers who continue to demonstrate commitment and dedication in advancing the rights and welfare of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

Miss Cooper said the new bus will greatly improve staff mobility, facilitate timely movement to official assignments, and enhance coordination and outreach efforts in support of disability-inclusive development initiatives.

Miss Cooper among other things lauded the management team headed by Apostle Dr. J. Aaron Wright Sr. for the kind gesture to staffers.

“It takes a selfless leader to demonstrate such leadership to staffers,” she noted.
