-A CASE WITH THE COCAIN TRIAL

Truth been told, as theorists put it conspicuously right when they argued that “ truth crush the ground shall never be hidden. In other words, light and darkness are not compatible”, meaning no matter how long or how many years it takes, the truth shall emerge, and the forces of evil shall definitely be overwhelmingly defeated and those who claimed moral uprightness shall be drawn before the throne of town square of the villagers to be questioned about their intent for a betrayal of  a trust repost in them by the villagers. Light and darkness are not compatible because light remains superior and darkness remain subordinate. Darkness fled whenever light emerged or showoff.

Our premise is in relation with the join security investigative panel, that is in charge of the US$19.2 million drugs bust at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) on June 8, 2026. Immediately when the drugs busted, Liberians in their number called on the Boakai-led government to disclosed names of his government officials who are linked to the drugs bust. Liberians have shown high degree of resentment about the influx of narcotic drugs in their country, so to hear such a huge consignment of drugs in recent time under this government did push Liberians to engage their government to do the needful by bringing those responsible to book.

Instead of the government calling on civil society organization to designate some of its credible member groupings to delve into the drugs bust probe, President Joseph Boakai ordered the joint security to investigate itself, the same group that is wrapped around the drugs controversy. Many of us as thinkers have serious reservation about that because we knew report from this joint security panel would not be credible owing to the fact that they are responsible for the influx of drugs in our country, therefore, they should not investigate themselves. Thank God that true to our reservation, they are showing their true color. They have proven that they lack the moral ground to handle this drugs trial. 

Unfortunately, true to our claims and perception on the credibility doubts of the joint security panel, the truth had started popping up from within the investigating panel by Police Inspector, Col. Gregory Coleman, who had announced the dismissal of a senior police officer who have allegedly taken bribe.

This testament by the police boss is a sufficient ground for the president to dissolve the Joint Security Investigating Panel for betrayal of public trust, dismiss Gregory Coleman and subject him to investigation. To be frank, report from this panel will never be credible for the several reasons.

The Minister of Justice had put it right when he met with official of the US Embassy and asked for Washington’s intervention because the law enforcement sector of Liberia lacks the sophistication to handle the drugs bust investigation.

Gregory Coleman’s latest outburst where he announced the dismissal of one of his deputies for act incompatible with his status is a complete genuine reason to dissolve the investigating panel and call on neutral body to take charge. By far, the testament of Colman had placed dent and confidence crisis on the investigation.

It is unfortunate that President Boakai seems to be a victim of high core political manipulation in the corridor of power due to his inability to withstand the pressure from people who he thought would guide the process jealously, forgetting to know that the issue of drugs is a global epidemic that needs collective effort that could lead to the arrest of some officials of Liberia, no matter their status and put the image of our nation in jeopardy. 

To the best of my knowledge, Washington, DC had already alerted Interpol to be on the watch in keeping surveillance on persons of interest who need to be apprehended to account for their actions, because from all indications, Liberia has reportedly fallen to the subregional drug cartel.      

In less than a year, the influx of drugs in Liberia is alarming at an unprecedented proportion, and much is expected of this government to uphold the constitution of the Republic of Liberia and defense the territorial confines of the motherland. There is nothing less we expect from this government besides doing the constitutional needful. Given the prevailing conflicting and careless handling of this national emergency, it is proven that the fight against drugs is far beyond the control of the Liberian government. We are not sugar-quoting our words when it comes to the influx of drugs in this country. The government had promised to weed out drugs in this country and replace what the locus have eaten from the civil servants of Liberia (undo the CDC initial harmonization), unfortunately, as we speak, nothing has been done and civil servants are sill making the same amount during Weah’s government, more drugs have been reportedly imported in country than Weah’s government. Every official of government is fighting to settle himself before he is removed from power or before the 2029.

If a cartel reportedly announced, claiming that they are in a drugs business with the government, and in fact the government of Liberia under their arrangement had betrayed them, as such demanding the immediate release of the drugs suspects from Police custody, then we have every reason to be in fear. We are in fear because the cartel could use her drugs money to cause insurrection in our country. The government needs to settle its obligation with the cartel if what we are hearing is factual.

When a foreign troop march on your territorial confines and seized potion of your land to be added on theirs, thereby taking possession of that part of Liberia with ease, no resistance from your government through your armed forces, then we have every reason to believe that this government is incapable to defend the territorial confines of the motherland.

When the government unprecedentedly over turned jurors ruling, thereby nullifying defense’s acquittal in plain view of the citizens and international partners, then we have every reason to believe that there is no due process of law under the watch of Joseph Boakai United Party-led government.

When the Executive, which is the law enforcement arm of the Liberian government had refused to execute a ruling from the Supreme Court (the highest court of the land), thereby protecting partisans’ interest at the disadvantage of other Liberians, then we have every reason to believe that rule of law in nowadays Liberia is illusive, forgotten to know that rule of law is one of the fundamental pillars upon which every civilized nation is built.
