The National Insurance Corporation of Liberia, NICOL, says it has concluded a plan to insure both public and private vehicles.
NICOL’s Acting Managing Director, Abdulah S. Swaray, said the insurance company concluded the plan in partnership with the Civil Service Agency (CSA), and the International Bank (Liberia ), Limited.
Mr. Swaray said the plan to insure all civil servants’ vehicles is intended to improve the livelihood of citizens, adding that NICOL will take charge of damaged vehicles.
The NICOL boss made the disclosure Tuesday when addressed the Ministry of Information regular press briefing.
Swaray further said NICOL will cover tricycles, commonly known as Kehkeh, motorbikes and trucks.
In remarks, the Director General of the Civil Service Agency, Dr. Josiah F. Joekai, Jr., disclosed that President Joseph Boakai has instructed him to include on the government’s Payroll 304 employees of the ELWA hospital.
Dr. Joekai said the decision is the Government’s way of identifying with the citizens. Tuesday’s press briefing witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding amongst International Bank of Liberia Limited, NICOL and Ministry of Transport.
