-FIRST STATE WITNESS ALLEGES

Raphael Wilson, first State witness in the ongoing high profile cocaine case, startling revelation did not only shock lawyers of the former Vice President, but apparently shock former President George Weah, his former officials and a broader membership of the Congress for Democratic Change, CDC.

Mr. Wilson’s revelation came just a few days after former President Weah, visited the former Vice President at the Monrovia Central Prison, where she is being detained.

Mr. Weah had earlier condemned the Government for the arrest of Madam Taylor on drug charges, adding that the current administration of Joseph Boakai and his Unity Party was tampering with the Country’s democratic system.

Mr. Wilson told the court that he has video footages, text and WhatsApp messages as evidences to prove his allegation against the former Vice President, who and members of the drug cartel had allegedly planned to assassinate Mr. Weah in the third year of his administration had he won the 2023 elections.

Wilson further disclosed that the alleged conspiracy to assassinate former President Weah was discussed during a meeting the cartel members, including Bashiru, Nicholas, Tony, and Michael had with Madam Taylor in a blue hotel in Dubai.

He also told the court that Madam Taylor traveled to Dubai with a five-member delegation that included her sister, Noah Howard and one Bernice Taylor, who were never part of the conversations that were held in the hotel.

The first State Witness also said it all came about after Madam Taylor agreed to provide security for the cartel members, who wanted to use Liberia as a transit point for the their transnational drug trade.

He quoted the cartel members as saying that prior to meeting with former Vice Taylor, they had earlier visited Liberia, but were duped.

Mr. Wilson additionally told the court that Madam Taylor, who had stated her desire to contest the presidency, requested one hundred million United States Dollars to fund her campaign, but instead of the amount, the cartel members agreed to have offered her two hundred and fifty million dollars.

Raphael Wilson, the prosecution’s first state witness, Madam Taylor made the request after one of the cartel members asked her whether she had an interest in seeking the Liberian presidency, a question he said was not out rightly answered yes or no by Taylor, who instead, asked for one hundred million dollars.

Wilson said he will provide videos footages when Nicole, Nicholas, Tony, Michael, Jewel, and Bashiru Kente were on a tour riding his yacht in Dubai.

He has reportedly given his phone to investigators and they went through and saw all the conversations, especially the text messages, the WhatsApp, the photos between he and Jewel Howard-Taylor and it was how they got the information extracted from the phone."

Meanwhile,  the former  Vice President has been released from custodial detention on compassionate grounds, but her legal troubles remain unresolved after Criminal Court “C” Judge, Ousman Feika, ordered her to remain under house arrest.

The ruling came after Taylor appeared before the court on Friday, September 4, 2026, to seek compassionate release based on her reported medical condition and the need for continued medical care. Judge Feika granted the request, but attached conditions intended to ensure that Taylor remains within the jurisdiction of the court as proceedings in the drug related case continue.,
