-PWM TO PAVE STREETS IN CITITIES

The Ministry of Public Works (MPW) has assured the public that it will during the dried season begin rigid pavement of streets in capital cities in the southeastern region.

Deputy Pub;ic Works Minister, A. Samukai Dunnoh, made the disclosure during a ceremony marking the dedication of 20 mini-buses and five cargo trucks at the National Transit Authority (NTA).

According to Deputy Minister Dunnoh, the roadwork will go beyond the major corridors, with county capitals across the Southeast also targeted for pavement.

“Besides the major corridors, all of the county capitals will be paved,” Dunnoh said.

He described the initiative as long overdue, noting that residents across the region have faced persistent challenges due to poor road conditions.

The planned intervention is expected to improve transportation, enhance connectivity within county capitals, and support economic activities by providing more durable road infrastructure.

The announcement comes as the government continues efforts to improve road connectivity and transportation services across Liberia, particularly in the southeastern counties.
