-LDEA Discovers Cocaine Worth Millions

In less than two months following the discovery in June of cocaine put at the cost of 19.2 million United States Dollars, the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency, LDEA, has discovered and confiscated another huge consignment of  Cocaine in the outskirt the the Capital, Monrovia, specifically in the  Duazon community in Paynesville City. 

 A Colombian and a Spanish national have been arrested in connection to the drugs and are currently in the custody of the LDEA. The LDEA reportedly acted on a tipoff from sources.

The value of the huge consignment of drugs loaded on a truck remains undisclosed.  

Just a few weeks ago, a consignment of cocaine put at a value of US$19.2M was seized at the Roberts International Airport. It for Europe. Several persons, some of whom are said to be on the run, were linked.

Since then, the matter still being investigated has created political tension across the Country as the ruling Unity Party Government and opposition trade accusations over who brought the drugs and how it entered the Country.

Multiple individuals, including airport security officers and VIP lounge personnel, were taken into custody. Five principal suspects were subsequently charged.

President Joseph Boakai has vowed to ensure a thorough crackdown on global cartels using West Africa as a transit hub, while opposition leaders call for international assistance to audit and handle the ongoing case.
