-Notorious Drug Dealer Re-arrested
A Notorious drug dealer, Tony Obina, a pot-belly Nigerian national, had thought he could beat system, apparently underestimating level at which Liberians are resolved to go after those engaged in illicit drugs trade.
Suspect Obina was amongst other inmates, who recently broke jail at the Kakata Central Prison in Margibi County, but was re-arrested by citizens and turned over to the security authorities in the County, cutting short his desperate attempt to elude justice.
Obina is the central figure in that massive, jaw-dropping drug trafficking scandal for which he was convicted alongside two officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA).
Vigilant local residents, partnering with national security personnel, without mobbing him, re-arrested and handed him over.
“You can try to outrun the law, but you cannot outrun a community that wants its streets and communities be cleared of dangerous substances,” the citizens reportedly told the alleged Nigerian drug dealer.
Of the over 100 prisoners that escaped from the Kakata Central Prison, 22 were re-arrested while the others are still on the run.
