Controversial Nigerian Cleric, Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, has threatened to file a US$2 billion lawsuit against Liberia’s Information Minister, Jerolinmek Mathew Piah, alleging that the Minister has accused him of bringing drugs into the Country throughout the six-year administration of former President, George Weah.

Primate Ayodele in a statement said Minister Piah’s alleged claim is false, damaging and untrue, adding that he will take all necessary legal actions to clear his name and demand compensation for injury to his reputation across West Africa and beyond.

It all started following the so-called Prophet’s recent statement in which he prophesied that Liberian President, Joseph Nyuma Boakai, is “confused” in his leadership direction, triggering mixed reactions from Liberians at home and abroad.

While some Liberians, mainly members and supporters of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change, CDC, are celebrating his disparaging remarks about the Liberian Leader, others urged the Nigerian Cleric to worry about his Country where they said kidnappings of foreign workers, adoption school girls and the killings of Christians are a daily routine.

The audio recording of Minister Piah’s remarks played on the night time radio program, ‘Night Time Heat’ on Prime Radio in Monrovia, showed no part of recording in which the Information Minister directly accused Primate Ayodele of bringing drugs or narcotic substances during the administration of former President Weah.

As far as this Paper knows, there has not been any official statement from the Information Minister relative to the controversial Nigerian Primate’s planned lawsuit.
