By . D. Moses Wantu

Citizens of Barclayville city, especially marketers were arose with excitement about the construction of a cold storage in the Capital, thereby Lessing the burdening of traveling to Plebo city, Maryland County to buy frozen goods.

The cold storage was constructed by Mr. John Chea, a citizen of Grand Kru County who is aspiring to contest the Senatorial position in the Liberian Senate, and had seen the need to build cold storage in order to minimize the transportation inconveniences always encountered by marketers in that part of Grand Kru County, even though the cold storage is meant for commercial purpose but the citizens have expressed excitement because it has never happen in the history of the county, as fish mongers are impressed with Mr. Chea’s vision.

The cold storage was constructed late last year (2025) and is in full operational gear, providing commercial services to fish mongers in the county, even though there are challenges in running the business such as shortage of general power supply, (electricity) as well as business transaction, but Mr. Chea had expressed assurance that the cold storage will remain operational to the expectation of service needed by the people of Grand Kru and of the region.

Mr. Chea had also constructed a three class room annex for the Gbetao High School in Pinicess, Grand Kru County.

The purpose of the annex is to decongest the growing number of students and create more space in order to accommodate other kids.

The construction of the cold storage and the three classroom annex are in direct respond to the needs of the citizen’s request.

Mr. Chea and team have embark on identifying meaningful projects for the citizens in the county.

Beside the construction of the Annex and the cold Storage, Mr. Chea has made timely interventions in other areas of interest such as provision of zincs for town chiefs, donation of power-saws to needy communities, bags cement for construction of meaningful projects, provision of financial aids to grand kru Students  in university, as well as cash donations to some marketers, etc.

The Grand Kru marketers are calling on other citizens to follow the good example of Mr. John Chea who have seen the need to make interventions in other areas where the county is lacked.
