Following the arrest order issued by Criminal Court “C” Presiding Judge,  Ousman F. Feika, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, Nora Finda Bundoo was immediately arrested and sent to the Monrovia Central Prison where she spent her night on Tuesday.

Judge Feika ordered the arrest and subsequent imprisonment of Miss Bundoo, former Chief of Protocol to former President George Weah, after the Court rejected her second criminal appearance bond, demanding a valid surety of US $8 million after she had turned herself over to the sheriff on Monday, July 20, 2026.

She was accompanied by former foreign minister, and her lawyer.

Bundoo, who served as Chief of Protocol to former President Weah from 2018 to 2024, faces trial alongside more than 40 co-defendants for allegedly misappropriating and laundering over US $6 million and 800 million Liberian dollars between 2020 and 2023.

Her arrest came just a few days after a controversial funeral tribute she delivered on July 18, 2026, in which she publicly severed ties with her former political allies and aligned with President Joseph Boakai’s administration.

During her father’s funeral, Bundoo accused unnamed former associates of conspiring to have her incarcerated at South Beach Prison, thanking President Boakai’s government for allowing her to bury her father.

The Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Taskforce (AREPRT) has charged Bundoo with money laundering, theft of property, misuse of public funds, forgery, criminal conspiracy, and abuse of office.

Prosecutors alleged Bundoo used her daughter, Anita Jallah, and two front companies—Anita Group of Companies and Anita Business Center—to conceal, move, and launder diverted public resources.

Bundoo returned to Liberia in June 2026 after previously being declared at large. Her legal team and state prosecutors continue to contest the sufficiency and validity of her criminal appearance bonds before Criminal Court “C.”July 18, 2026.
