Deputy Immigration Commissioner General for Naturalization, at the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), N. Dickson R. Tamba, has called on the people of Lofa County to put aside their political differences and unite in promoting peace, reconciliation, and development across the county.

Commissioner Tamba made the call over the weekend when he addressed a team of journalists at his office, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to move Lofa County forward.

According to him, Lofa County is blessed with a fertile land, a rich cultural heritage, and hardworking citizens whose contributions,  he said, are essential to the county’s growth and development.

He noted, however, that political divisions and tribal sentiments have hindered development in some parts of the county, stressing that citizens must embrace dialogue, mutual understanding, and reconciliation to overcome these challenges.

Commissioner Tamba emphasized that unity among citizens remains critical to building a peaceful and prosperous Lofa County, urging residents to prioritize the common interest of the county over political and personal differences.Tamba also called on young people in Lofa to refrain from violence and drug abuse, encouraging them instead to focus on agriculture, education, and business as practical ways to contribute to the county’s recovery and development after years of challenges.

The Naturalization official said empowering young people through productive activities would help create opportunities, strengthen communities, and promote sustainable development.

Commissioner Tamba further pledged to work with traditional leaders, women's groups, and youth organizations to promote peace, strengthen social cohesion, and advance development initiatives throughout Lofa County.

He stressed that cooperation among community leaders, civil society groups, and ordinary citizens would be essential to addressing local challenges and creating a better future for the people of Lofa.

Commissioner Tamba’s appeal comes amid calls for greater unity and collaboration among Liberians to accelerate development and improve living conditions in communities across the country.
