-NO MORE BIG WOMAN CURSE AGAIN
- BEGS TO BE FREED
Justin Oldpa Yeazehn, popularly known as "Prophet Key," is expected to regain his freedom this month after serving a six-month prison sentence imposed by the Supreme Court of Liberia for criminal contempt.
Ahead of the anticipated completion of his sentence, a handwritten letter dated July 28, 2026 has surfaced in which Prophet Key expresses remorse for the statements that led to his imprisonment and offers a broad public apology to the Supreme Court, the Liberian people, and particularly Liberian women.
In the letter, Prophet Key apologizes to Chief Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, Associate Justices Yussif D. Kaba, Boakai N. Kanneh, Jamesetta H. Wolokolie, and Cecelia D. Clinton Johnson, as well as judges, magistrates and other judicial officers.
He acknowledged that his remarks were inappropriate and asked the judiciary to forgive him, writing that he deeply regrets his actions.
The apology also extends to all Liberian women whom he admitted insulting through his public comments. Prophet Key pleaded for a second chance, promising never again to use abusive or offensive language against any woman, regardless of whether she is related to him.
"I promise that I will never cuss any woman again," he wrote, adding that as a husband and father of two daughters, he now recognizes the importance of treating women with dignity and respect.
He concluded his letter by expressing sincere regret and asking the Liberian public for forgiveness.
The apology comes months after the Supreme Court found him guilty of criminal contempt for repeatedly making abusive and vulgar remarks against Chief Justice Gbeisay, members of the Supreme Court, and others. The Court sentenced him to six months imprisonment at the Monrovia Central Prison after determining that his conduct undermined the dignity and authority of the judiciary.
During the contempt proceedings, Prophet Key, through his lawyers, had also admitted wrongdoing and appealed to the Court for mercy, while assuring the justices that he would refrain from making similar statements in the future.
With his six-month sentence nearing its end, Prophet Key is now expected to be released during the month of August, barring any legal developments affecting the execution of the Court's judgment.
