- GO JAIL FOR BETRAYAL OF CONFIDENCE

Fifteen jurors, who presided over the Tweah's corruption case, are guilty and sent to jail for misconduct.

The jurors tampering investigation came after two jurors alarmed, citing misconduct amongst them.

Meanwhile, the lawyer representing former Finance Minister, Samuel D. Tweah, Cllr. Arthur Johnson, has strongly criticized the decision by the Criminal Court “C” to have overturned the not-guilty verdict in the high-profile corruption case, describing the ruling as a threat to Liberia’s democracy and judicial system.

Reacting to the court’s decision, the defense lawyer argued that it is unprecedented for a judge to recall or investigate jurors after they had delivered their verdict and returned to their communities.

He maintained that the court lacks jurisdiction to entertain complaints or investigate the jury after it had been discharged, insisting that such a move is unfair.

He warned that the ruling sets a dangerous legal precedence and undermines confidence in the country’s justice system. The court has not publicly responded to the defense’s claims.
