-Abandoned Child Found in Bush

The Bong County Office of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has launched an investigation into the alleged abandonment of an infant, who was discovered early Tuesday morning in a bush near Janailepta Town, Electoral District #3, Bong County.

Following reports of the incident, the County Gender Coordinator, Madam Musu Mulbah, immediately deployed a team of social workers to the area to assess the situation and conduct a preliminary investigation.

According to findings gathered by the team, the infant whose identity remains unknown, was allegedly abandoned by unidentified individuals and left in the bush. Investigators also established that the child is living with severe physical deformities and is in need of urgent care and protection.

In response, Madam Mulbah has mobilized her office and relevant stakeholders to explore immediate and long-term solutions aimed at safeguarding the child's welfare and ensuring access to appropriate care and support services.

The Ministry of Gender is working closely with the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Women, Children and Social Protection to determine the best course of action, including the possibility of facilitating a legal adoption process for the child.

Meanwhile, Madam Mulbah has called on members of the public to remain calm and continue to place their trust in the Ministry as investigations progress.

She also appealed to development partners, humanitarian organizations, and well-meaning citizens to support ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable children and strengthen social welfare interventions across Bong County.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional information will be made available as it emerges.
