SHE KILLED HER GRAND CHILDREN

May 25, 2026 | Latest

-Currently at 56, Grandma Mary Giah, would be age 81 before she walks out of prison.

The 8th Judicial Circuit Court in Sanniquillie, Nimba County, found Miss Giah guilty for mercilessly murdering her own three grandchildren.

Citizens of Nimba welcomed the 25-year jail sentence because it serves as a precedence to deter violence against innocent children.

“What must have come over her that made her to kill her own grandchildren,” a senior high school student wondered on hearing of the news.

The gruesome incident, a resident of Ganta told this Paper, has become a daily topic in homes, communities, school campuses and market places everywhere in Nimba since it is one of the rarest incidents in many decades.

The victims, six-year-old Mewaseh Giah, four-year-old Marvelous Zainsaye, and two-year-old Alvina Tokpah had thought that like other children, they were enjoying the warmth and love of grandma, an old woman, who supposed to be their security, but to their outmost surprise, became the person who would have shortened their young lives on earth.

The reports say the tragic incident occurred on February 22, 2026 in a place called Mehnla Town.

It is reported that she killed the children because their mother, her own daughter, accused her of being a witch, triggering her action to physically prove that she is actually a witch.

Similar to the recent incident Mehnla Town, Nimba County, it can be recalled that a mother once killed her own child by slitting the infant’s throat.

In another bizarre incident, just a few weeks ago, a teenage boy was arrested and handcuff on allegation of killing his own father on their family cocoa farm somewhere in Lofa County. He’s currently being interrogated by the Police.
