SUPREME COURT RULES TO IN KOLUBAH CASE

Latest report has it that the Supreme Court of Liberia will issue a  ruling today,  Wednesday, at 3:30 p.m., in a high profile constitutional case between Montserrado County Representative Yekeh Kolubah and the leadership of the House of Representatives.

According to an official Notice of Assignment, it is alleged that Associate Justice Yussif D. Kaba will rule on a Bill of Information filed by Kolubah against Mr. Richard Koon, Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah, and legislative leadership.

Rep. Kolubah claims the House leadership is willfully violating prior court directives and bypassing constitutional due process in their ongoing attempts to discipline and restrict him.

This case places Liberia at a constitutional crossroads with everyone looking to see the outcome.  The high court's decision will determine whether the judiciary will compell the Legislature to return to status quo.

"The Supreme Court has the right to intervene but it is not clear if the court instruction will be honored by the House of Representatives" pundits predicted.
