-A case with Fonati  Koffa’s Office Report

Public officials, to the best of my understanding, as a product of government studies should uphold high moral standards or values rooted in selflessness, integrity, and accountability, acting solely in the public interest rather than for personal gain. Key ethical pillars upon which service to people must be built are objectivity and transparency. Others include honesty, leadership, and unwavering respect for the rule of law and the citizens they serve.

We feel compelled to set the bases of our argument in this context to debunk the lies, misinformation and disinformation spilled out by the office of Cllr. Fonati Koffa’s, in which the office claimed interventions in social services in Grand Kru County.

We shall deal with the lies consciously pin pointing the flaws and hard core deception the office of our Representative, Cllr Koffa is parading with both on social and traditional medias.

Philosophers have developed the concept of honesty, accountability, and selflessness in order for public officials to be guided, but if a particular official sees and understands the concept, but knowingly and or ignorantly decided to ignore same, such a person could be described as fake.

The office of the Representative must be sincere enough to apologize for the prolong abandonment of the people by Cllr. Koffa, instead of spilling lies and deception. That could be sound to reason if they would realize and be apologetic  because we know very well what he has being go through since his reelection. But for one to think that he can manipulate knowledge by rhetoric while the citizens are grieving is unfair and must be stopped. To buy sentiment of the Grand Kru citizens in the case of Fonati, his office must be persuasive.    

Moral values are principles and beliefs that guide human behavior, helping individuals differentiate between right and wrong to inform decisions, actions, and interactions. They foster personal character, build trust, and maintain social harmony, often rooted in culture, religion, or ethics. Common values include honesty, respect, responsibility, compassion, and fairness. This is while when lies are told, we made it our moral duty to erect the checkpoints and set the record straight.

To the point, it is laughable for the office of Cllr. Koffa to claim of making a so-called “detailed development report highlighting years of Investments across key sectors, outlining over 1million in spending aimed at improving infrastructure, social services, and livelihood in the county”

This claim by Mr. Koffa’s office is a myth and a diabolical lies been told from the pit of hell. Since Koffa was reelected by the citizens of the county, precisely electoral District #2, Grand Kru County,  Koffa had abandoned the citizens of  the district. Since the 2023 elections, he had deliberately refused to pay a thank you visit, least to make district report.

Another issue is that district report is made in a physical meeting with the citizens in the county because copies of the report should be distributed and Citizens must have an interpersonal engagement with the representative. That is not the case with Kofa.

Mr. Kofa had joined other lawmakers of the county to deny the citizens the right to know about our Social Development Funds.

I want to know when last did Fonati Koffa visit Grand Kru County, since 2023 which gives Koffa’s reelection.  After the 2023 election, Koffa told the Grand Kru Citizens that he has no political ambition in Grand Kru anymore. With this perception, he had abandoned the citizens of Grand Kru.

I sensed that Kofa is cleverly making a u-turn because the government has started the road construction project and want to eat show or take the glory at the expense of  the president’s legacy. Cllr. Kofa must be told that district report is intended for the citizens are not made on newspapers or social medias platform. 

There are established frameworks like the Seven Principles of Public Life and public administration standards that must be withheld. In this case, Kofa’s office has ignored administrative standards which among other things required the below mentioned. 

Integrity: that which is about acting honestly, avoiding conflicts of interest, and not using the position for personal financial or material benefit.

Selflessness: Making decisions solely in the public interest, not to secure benefits for oneself, family, or friends.

Accountability: We all know that it is about being answerable to the public for decisions and actions, and submitting to necessary scrutiny, and Transparency & Openness: Acting in an open manner and providing information, only withholding it for lawful reasons.

This report from the office of Mr. Koffa contradicts the true meaning of objectivity & fairness because objectivity is   making decisions based on merit, evidence, and impartiality, without discrimination or bias.

Respect for others was also not followed in this Koffa’s office report. Reporting lies to manipulate the mindset of the citizens for selfish interest conspicuously means not treating all citizens with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Grand Kru leaders must rise above pettiness.  Leadership & Stewardship is all about setting a high standard of conduct and using public resources responsibly, efficiently, and sustainably.

We must demonstrate Loyalty & Patriotism for our beloved county by upholding the constitution and the law.

These values ensure public confidence in governance and ensure ethical decision-making.

In conclusion, we are challenging the office of the lawmaker in his second term to publish the meeting pictorials and minutes, state the venue of the interventions he claimed to have made, publish the names of the student beneficiaries and which universities, name the infrastructures, whether bridges, schools, clinics and town halls he had built as he claimed.
